1) P. -vṛiṇoti, to ward off, keep away RV. :

Caus. -vārayati id. MBh. ;
2) P. Ā. -vṛiṇāti, (Ved.) -vṛiṇite -vṛiṇoti, -vṛiṇute (3. sg. aor. Subj. -vṛita RV. ), to choose out, choose as (acc.) orﾠ for (dat.) RV. Br. MBh. BhP. ;
to accept gladly RV. IX, 101, 13 :
Caus. -varayati, to choose, select MBh. ;
-vārayati, to please, gratify. R.
